Antique designer gold necklace, Narenkumar Jewellers

Hallmark gold

Hallmark gold jewellery in North Mumbai. Regular everyday wear, Italian jewellery, mangalsutra, antique jewellery, and a lot of make-to-order. 916 is the default.

Hallmark gold in Bhayandar, Mira Road and Kandivali

We only sell hallmark gold. That is normal now, not a boast. 916, stamped, the same metal whether it is a work chain or a wedding haar. The old site listed Maharashtrian, South Indian, antique, kundan, and Italian or imported gold. That is still what sits here. Personalised gold if the tray does not have your piece.

People have been trusting these stores for generations. Since 1992, about 34 years. Three generations of certain families have been buying gold from us. They come back because the staff stayed, and because we try to do what is right at that point rather than push a sale.

What sits on the gold tray

916 bangles, including a rhodium-finish pair when we have them. Work chains and heavier men’s chains. Italian-line chains that sit lighter. Haar and necklace sets. Gold earrings, jhumkas, bali. Kadas. Mangalsutra. Antique necklaces and rings. A laxmi har. South Indian coral work. Nath and maang tikka in the bridal trays. Baju band, sized on the arm. Gold watches when they are in.

New designs come through about every two weeks. Phoolji in Bhayandar, Gopalji in Mira Road, or Vijay in Kandivali will open the tray and tell you the weight. Stock moves. Message before you travel if you want one length or one size.

Everyday gold, not only wedding gold

A chain for work. Italian jewellery for the office. A mangalsutra you can wear to work. Small earrings. A kada. That is most of the week. Wedding sittings are the long appointments — haar, tikka, baju band, nath, tried in the room. Both jobs use the same hallmark metal.

Italian gold is imported and light. Antique gold is new gold that looks older. Bridal gold is the set you sit with before the function. Custom is whatever you send from Instagram. They are different trays, same stamp. See Italian gold for everyday wear, antique, bridal, mangalsutra.

If you saw a design

If you see a design on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest, we can make it. If you don’t like it, give it back and we will remake it. Because we care about the customer being satisfied. A cropped story is enough. Say what must stay. They confirm karat, stones, size and a date. Longer note: custom jewellery.

How it is checked

Hallmark on the gold. Then finish, clasp, stamp against the ticket. All jewellery passes strict QC. We are in the middle: personalised service, and also the checks that very large stores do, which family showrooms often skip. Staff have stayed over 10 years, so the person who sold you a chain is often the person who checks the remake. How a piece is checked.

We do not publish gold rates, making charges or buyback percentages here. Exchange is discussed at the counter, in general terms, on the piece in front of you.

Italian, antique, bridal — same hallmark

Italian gold is the light imported tray for office wear. Antique is new gold that looks older. Bridal is the long sitting. Everyday gold is the rest of the week. We keep them as specialties because people ask for them by name. The stamp does not change.

A lot of make-to-order sits next to all of that. If the tray does not have your piece, the photograph is the brief. If you do not like the finished work, we remake it. That is the service. That is why staff who have stayed over 10 years still open the same trays for the same families.

Which counter

Bhayandar — Phoolji and Yogeshji, Talao Road, since 1992. Mira Road — Gopalji and Ramji, Queens Park. Kundali is the diamond store; for a long gold sitting they send you to Narenkumar on the same road. Kandivali — Vijay and Mahendra, the smallest showroom.

How a gold jewellery visit usually goes

Walk in before closing. Say what you want — a work chain, a pair of bangles, a wedding haar, a remake from a photograph. They open the tray. You try the weight. They show the hallmark. Phoolji, Gopalji or Vijay will tell you the grams for the piece in front of you. We do not publish a gold rate on this site. Rates move. The ticket on that piece is what matters.

If the tray does not have your piece, they take the picture and a date. You come back and see it in the room. If you don’t like it, give it back and we will remake it. We try to do what is right for the customer at that point, rather than talk you into keeping something that sits wrong.

Exchange is discussed at the counter, in general terms, on the jewellery in front of you. Not as a website percentage. We think long term. A family that sits badly this year does not bring the next generation.

Gold jewellery by piece, not by catalogue

Same gold. Separate pages if you already know the piece: rings, earrings, chains, necklaces and haar, nose pins and nath, bracelets, kadas, maang tikka, baju band — an armlet, not a kada — and gold watches when they are in the case.

Italian jewellery is the light imported line on the same counters. Antique is new gold that looks older. Bridal is the long sitting. Mangalsutra is its own tray. You do not need four visits. You need the right tray opened first. New designs come through about every two weeks. Stock moves. Message the store you use if you want a length pulled before you travel.

We do not sell online. There is no cart. Challengers Tower is the registered office, not a counter. After you take a piece home, a soft cloth and a separate pouch. Bring a thinned chain or a worn lock back before a function morning. Jewellery care.

Why families keep buying gold here

We are not a super large store with hundreds of staff who keep changing. Most staff have stayed over 10 years. When a customer comes back they often find people they know. Sandip Kadam wrote that after 20 years the kindness and service have not changed. Mumtaz Shaikh has been a customer about 20 years. Makarand Pawar is second generation at the same shop. That is the work.

What separates us is the quality of service and the personalization. We are customer first. We sit in the middle: personal enough that a returning family is not a ticket number, and large enough that every piece still goes through the QC that very large stores do, which family showrooms often skip. All jewellery passes strict QC.
